Samba Workshop 8th & 9th October

All of year 8 was able to experience a day of samba workshops delivered by Brian Costello from “SambaBamba”
The pupils were working in tutor groups and had a 1 hour workshop where they were experiencing “Samba Batu Cada”. This is the most common form of Samba played throughout Brazil. At the end of the day all tutor groups performed their work for the rest of their half of the year.
During the workshop all pupils had the opportunity to play every instrument available to them from the large “Surdos” to the smaller “Ganzas”.
The pupils were also moving in time to the music as part of their performance.
The pupils very much enjoyed the day and we have created our own Samba group which is open for everyone and it runs every Friday after school
